Note : Scene inspired by "The Tale of Czar Saltan" (whose full title is "The Tale of Czar Saltan, his son, the glorious and mighty valiant Prince Gvidon Saltanovitch and the very beautiful Princess Cygnus "1) is a long, marvelous tale in rhythmic, rhyming verse, written by Alexander Pushkin in 1831. Freely inspired by a traditional Russian tale, it was the source of the fantasy opera of the same name, composed in 1899-1900 by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for the centenary of the poet's birth.
