Rectangular papier-mâché and lacquer box with polychrome decoration of scenes from the story "The Kalashnikov Merchant", including on the left Kiribeyevich's advances to Alena Dmitrievna, in the center the fight between Kalashnikov and Kiribeyevich before the Tsar to save his wife's honor, and on the right Kalashnikov brought to the gallows. The hinged lid reveals a red lacquered compartment.
