Militaria: WWII/World War II 1939–1945/Archival Diptych from - Lot 228
Militaria: WWII/World War II 1939–1945/Archival Diptych from the Crédit Agricole Fund - Double Rejection by the Wehrmacht/1941 Saintes (Charente-Inférieure 17)/Simultaneous Censorship of Telephone Lines/Monitoring of Communications at the Regional Credit Agricole Mutuel Bank - These documents perfectly illustrate the occupying forces’ stranglehold on France’s economic infrastructure. The request was met with a strict prohibition, evidenced by the diagonal stamp of a large purple ink stamp reading “AUTHORIZATION DENIED.” This decision is officially sealed by the circular wet stamp of the local Feldkommandantur (Feldkommandantur 544), clearly bearing the eagle and the swastika. These are exceptional historical archival documents regarding restrictions on movement and communication in the occupied zone, in the form of official “Authorization to Make Telephone Calls in Occupied France” forms, dated March 25, 1941.
