Tibet, late 18th-19th century. Thangka in polychrome and gold highlights on textile, depicting Padmasambhava as a meditation deity, shown in blue, seated in dhyanasana, brandishing a vajra, in yab-yum with his shakti. The god is surrounded by numerous Buddhist deities and saints, two of whom are identified by inscriptions. On the back, a long inscription, probably a dedication.
