Ordre du Medjidié, Commander's jewel (3rd class), seven-stripe silver star with gold center stamped with the tughra of Sultan Abdul-Medjid and bordered by four red enameled cartouches: Patriotism - Zeal - Loyalty - 1268 (1852), gold mobile hoop formed by an enameled crescent to the star, model tie (missing tie link), weight 53.30 grams, wear, sunstain, Ottoman Empire 19th/early 20th century, two military medals (3rd Republic period), a jeweler's reduction of the palmes académiques and a U.N.C. fabrication Chobillon Paris, 5 pieces. Sultan Abdul-Medjid founded the order in 1852, replacing the Nishan-Iftikhar of Turkey established by his father Mamoud II in 1831. The order disappeared in 1922 with the end of the Sultanate,
