BORDEAUX - David JOHNSTON Manufacture de Very large fine earthenware dinner service, Turkish model, decorated in blue monochrome with animated scenes in the basin, the wing hemmed with four cartouches featuring birds embellished with vine branches, it includes fifty-eight dinner plates (Diam.: 23 cm) - twenty-three soup plates (Diam.: 23 cm) - forty-six dessert plates (Diam.: 20.5 cm) - a pair of round dishes (Diam.: 31 cm) - a suite of four round dishes (Diam. 28 cm - three with a chip, one on the reverse) - two round and hollow dishes (Diam. 27 cm) - a leg of lamb dish (40 x 31 cm) - two pairs of rectangular dishes (30 x 24 cm and 35 x 27.5 cm) - a covered tureen and its base (Height. 25.5 cm - Length: 33 cm - Depth: 20.5 cm) - three covered vegetable dishes (28.5 x 23 cm - two lids damaged and one handle to be glued back, and two with chips and missing reverse) - three round-handled mignardise dishes (Diam. 24.5 cm) - two oval dishes with handles (31 x 23, cm) - a fruit bowl (Height: 15 cm - Diam.: 28.5 cm) - a mounted bowl (Height: 9 cm - Diam. 23 cm) - a pair of mounted bowls with pleated rims (Height: 7.5 - Diam.: 23.5 cm - one fele) - a covered sauceboat and its frame (Height: 13 cm - Length: 22 cm) - a covered sugar bowl and its frame (Height. 15 cm - Length: 19 cm - accidents and restorations) - a mustard pot (Height: 9 cm - a chip and a fele on the lid) - two shell-shaped dishes (Length: 23 cm) - a strawberry drainer and its basin (Diam.: 21 cm - star-shaped feles on the drainer and a chip on the basin) - a teapot (Height: 21 cm - chips, fele and restoration on the lid). Four pieces are included, including a ravier, a broc, a milk jug and a bowl hemmed with a similar frieze decoration and marked Jules Vieillard & Co in Bordeaux. (together with a few scattered stains and some wear to the decoration)
