Extremely Rare Belle Époque Fashion Catalog - High Life Tailor 1914 - "Pays d'Arvor" (Brittany) - Illustrated by L. Rivel - Original fabrics. An exceptionally rare item: an authentic, prestigious advertising catalog from the famous Parisian fashion house High Life Tailor / Société Bessonnat & Cie (12 rue Auber / 112 rue Richelieu), complete and dated for the Spring-Summer 1914 season. Published on the eve of World War I, this booklet is the ultimate testament to the elegance of the Belle Époque, presented here with a magnificent Breton theme. Cover: A splendid signed work by the artist L. Rivel titled “Pays d’Arvor.” It depicts a young Breton woman in traditional headdress and costume holding a model ship, set against a backdrop of the Breton coastal landscape. The illustration is complemented by a historical poem printed in three columns as a tribute to sailors. Intact Fabric Samples (Extremely Rare): The inner presentation page has retained all of its vintage wool fabric samples. It features a large central window showcasing a highly innovative checkered fabric, as well as a selection of six original fabric samples in various colors and patterns (herringbone, tartan), all in impeccable condition.
