Note: Arthur Midy received his artistic training at the Académie Julian in Paris. He discovered Le Faouët in 1905. During the inter-war period, he extended his inspiration to Finistère and the whole of western Morbihan. He took part in exhibitions at the Salon des artistes français from 1897 to 1928 and in 1914 he received a silver medal. His travels in Northern Italy inspire our work.
Public collections: Musée des Beaux Arts de Quimper where Le Vieux Buveur and La Fontaine Sainte-Barbe au Faouët are located.
