A Dutch print from the late 16th century, dated 1590, titled *Jupiter and Juno* (or *The Dispute Between Jupiter and Juno*).It is taken from one of the most famous series in the history of European printmaking: the illustrations for Ovid’s *Metamorphoses* by the circle of the great master Hendrik Goltzius. Specifically, this is plate number 5 of the second part of the series. Hendrik Goltzius, the undisputed genius of Dutch Mannerism, conceived and drew the original design. Goltzius’s workshop: The chisel engraving was executed by his best students (often attributed to his son-in-law Jacob Matham or to Jan Saenredam).The publisher (Robert de Baudous excud.): The inscription beneath the figures indicates that the plates were published and distributed by Robert de Baudous in Amsterdam.
