Vintage Poulain Chocolate Advertising Chromolithograph - Victor Hugo Theme - Circa 1900, Front and Back. A rare and authentic large, hardcover collector’s advertising leaflet (period chromolithograph) issued by the famous Chocolat Poulain brand, dating from the Belle Époque (circa 1900–1905).This piece is from the famous prestige series “Chocolat Poulain as Judged by Its Contemporaries”: Front (Color): A magnificent childhood scene depicting two children at lunchtime gathered around a cup of hot chocolate. The upper portion features a photographic portrait in a medallion (Goupil photograph) of François Victor-Hugo, accompanied by his handwritten quote praising the brand. On the reverse (black and white): A superb engraving of the iconic Chocolat Poulain page beneath the caption “Cut and Compare.” The lower section contains a comprehensive biographical and historical account of the descendants of the writer Victor Hugo and his affection for his grandchildren, immortalized in *The Art of Being a Grandfather*.
